CHICAGO, Aug. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Citing his optimism and visionary leadership, the editors of PharmaVOICE magazine have named David Ormesher, founder and CEO of strategic marketing firm closerlook, inc., one of the 100 most inspiring people in the life sciences industry for 2011. This marks the second consecutive year that the Chicago-based entrepreneur and philanthropist has been included in the prestigious "PharmaVOICE 100."
The honor was announced in the July-August issue of the magazine, which annually pays tribute to top leaders in all areas of the life sciences. Drawing from thousands of nominations submitted by readers, the PharmaVOICE editors selected this year's honorees based on their contributions to corporate leadership, innovation and roles in driving positive change.
"The cup is always half full for Dave Ormesher," the editors write, describing his optimism and outside-in thinking as hallmarks of Ormesher's approach to healthcare marketing. On the personal front, the PharmaVOICE editors reveal that Ormesher is a dedicated philanthropist who uses his business expertise to make a difference in communities struggling against poverty. In 2007, he co-founded Global Relief and Development Partners (GRDP) to help entrepreneurs in Rwanda improve social and financial security in their country by developing the skills to run successful businesses. Ormesher travels to Rwanda four times a year to personally coach 50 entrepreneurs committed to growth and leadership.
Closer to home, he leads the board of directors of i.c. stars, a Chicago nonprofit that provides business, leadership and technology training for urban adults. He is also president of the Guild Board of Directors of the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
