Death of Columbia College Chicago President Emeritus Mike Alexandroff

    CHICAGO, April 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Mirron (Mike) Alexandroff, 78, the
 legendary president emeritus of Columbia College Chicago, died yesterday at
 Northwestern Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
     Mr. Alexandroff served as Columbia's president for 30 years, retiring in
 1992.  Under his leadership, it grew from a struggling 200-student institution
 to the country's largest arts and communications college.
     A memorial service will be held at a later date, his family said.
