MENLO PARK, Calif., Aug. 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Deliv, a leading crowdsourced, same-day delivery company, today announced it has expanded into nine new markets and will reach over 100 cities. The expansion gives Deliv one of the largest same-day delivery footprints in the country as current retailers and mall operators are broadening their national same-day programs.
Deliv powers scheduled, same-day delivery and returns across 250 retailers, including Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Williams-Sonoma, Foot Locker, 1-800-Flowers and others, and has partnered with the six largest mall operators in the country.
"Today's consumers want the convenience of picking exactly when their packages will arrive – not sometime in the next two to five days or sometime before 8:00 pm. It's no surprise we've experienced an organic growth increase of 800% in the first half of this year compared to the same period last year," stated Daphne Carmeli, CEO of Deliv. "Deliv is more than doubling its footprint with the expansion and is enhancing the shopping experience at participating retailers across the country."
Deliv currently operates in Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Northern New Jersey, San Francisco and the broader Bay Area, Seattle and Washington, D.C. With the expansion, Deliv will service 17 markets.
The new markets include Atlanta, Boston / Cambridge, Dallas / Fort Worth, Honolulu, Las Vegas, Miami / Fort Lauderdale, the New York City metro area (including Brooklyn, Queens and Western Long Island), Orange County and Philadelphia. The markets also include the surrounding areas and will roll out through the end of August with New York launching in early October.
Deliv powers omnichannel retailers, brick and mortar retailers and eCommerce companies to compete with Amazon's same-day delivery program by turning their thousands of stores or other local inventory into local fulfillment centers.
For omnichannel retailers, the power and leverage of Deliv's business is that once a retailer integrates with Deliv's API, they simply add zip codes to a database file to be live in any store across any new market. One integration means thousands of stores are available to fulfill same-day deliveries.
Due to the success of same-day delivery in existing markets, many of Deliv's current national retailers, including Macy's and Bloomingdale's, will expand their same-day delivery offering to the 17 Deliv markets. Macy's offers same-day delivery for just $5 above ground shipping, which is often free. The Macy's and Bloomingdale's press release can be found here.
"When we piloted same-day delivery in eight markets initially last fall, we learned that our customers appreciate the additional option of having their purchase brought to their home or office in a matter of hours. It is an important part of our value proposition as an omnichannel retailer serving customers who shop our stores, websites and apps whenever, wherever and however they prefer," said R.B. Harrison, Macy's, Inc. chief omnichannel officer. "Our ability to expand same-day delivery is rooted in local merchandise inventories at Macy's stores, as well as a newly expanded delivery footprint of our partners at Deliv."
Deliv is also announcing a returns offering. Returns are available for Macy's and Bloomingdale's in Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and the Bay Area. To schedule a return, customers just go to the Macy's or Bloomingdale's website to authorize their return and Deliv will pick it up during a scheduled time frame and send it back to Macy's or Bloomingdale's.
According to Carmeli, the demand for scheduled, same-day delivery is accelerating across retail segments. The company has plans to announce additional national partners later this year.
Deliv is a crowdsourced, last mile logistics company that powers same-day delivery from national and local retailers. Deliv enhances retailers' customer experience by giving customers the choice to receive their items whenever and wherever they want. Deliv allows retailers to offer their customers a same-day delivery option as they shop from their website, mobile app or from their physical brick and mortar store. By simply adding the Deliv same-day delivery option into their existing checkout process, the retailer preserves the customer shopping experience and fulfills orders from inventory in their local brick and mortar stores or other points of local distribution all while maintaining ownership and data from each customer transaction.
Deliv has partnered with over 250 national and regional retailers, as well as the nation's six largest mall operators, who manage nearly 800 malls across the country. The company currently operates in 17 markets. Deliv is headquartered in Menlo Park, California, and is backed by some of Silicon Valley's leading venture capital firms.
