Delta Air Lines Enlists PROS Revenue Management to Take Further Steps To Optimize Revenue

Apr 05, 2001, 01:00 ET from Delta Air Lines, Inc.

ATLANTA, April 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) has engaged
the services of PROS Revenue Management to enhance the airline's ability to
identify and capitalize on revenue opportunities throughout Delta's domestic
and international network. The PROS team of revenue management professionals
has begun work at Delta's Atlanta headquarters on the first stage of the
project -- an examination of existing processes and resources, as well as an
intensive training program aimed at coordinating and prioritizing pricing and
 revenue-optimization efforts within the airline.
"PROS is a true leader in the field of revenue management. We are pleased
to have entered into a partnership designed to improve Delta's unit revenue
production. They bring perspective and credibility as an industry veteran
and, even though we are early in this engagement, PROS' domain expertise in
business process has already invigorated our people. PROS has identified
immediate revenue opportunity, and I expect that many of the efforts we have
begun internally will now take off with PROS working as an adjunct to Delta
Air Lines," commented Mark A. P. Drusch, Delta's senior vice president -
 network management.
Adding to these remarks, Benson Yuen, president of PROS Revenue
Management's Airline Group, stated, "This partnership with Delta Air Lines
represents a milestone for PROS Revenue Management. Our continued success is
built upon the results and value we bring our clients, so we look forward to
providing Delta with the degree of excellence from which we will all benefit."
The initial project is designed as a three-track approach involving an
assessment of revenue-management-related tools and resources, an education
program that includes mentoring and staff allocation modeling, and a
comprehensive business process improvement program. The project involves
participation from several disciplines, including systems experts, business
process professionals, scientists, and veteran practitioners of revenue
 management.
