TEANECK, N.J., March 28, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Sam Zalman Gdanski, former Democratic delegate calls upon members of both parties to support President Trump's publicly stated position to move the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem.
Gdanski, a delegate to the 1980 Democratic Convention, split from President Carter and supported Senator Kennedy in part due to President Carter's opposition to having official U.S. policy mandate moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem.
Gdanski pointed out that this is not a roadblock to peace and in fact will spur peace by defining the capital state of Israel as Jerusalem to be publicly recognized by the United States.
Rather than stall negotiations this will enhance the prospect of finalizing a conclusion of negotiations towards the peace process.
Gdanski, second generation Holocaust survivor on both sides together with his wife also a second generation urges this to be a matter of public policy with bipartisan support. The press reported on this back on August 26, 1980 when Gdanski circulated a petition amongst Democratic delegates to force President Carter to include a provision in the Democratic platform to consistently and progressively support such a move.
With the heels of the AIPAC conference coming amongst us Gdanski renews his request for bipartisan support.
Sam and Frances Gdanski recently moved here from Monsey, NY to be closer to their children.
