Deutsche Asset Management Appoints Gary Cohen Chief Investment Officer for the Americas

    NEW YORK, April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Deutsche Asset Management (DeAM) today
 announced the appointment of Gary Cohen as Chief Investment Officer for the
 Americas.  Based in New York, Mr. Cohen reports to Dean Barr, Global Chief
 Investment Officer for Deutsche Asset Management.  In his new role, Mr. Cohen
 will be a member of the firm's Global Investment Committee and he will also
 chair the Investment Committee for North America.
     Prior to joining DeAM, Mr. Cohen enjoyed a 28-year tenure at Citigroup in
 various management positions.  Most recently he held the position of CIO and
 Head of Alternative Investment Strategies for SSB Citi Asset Management, since
 1998.  In this capacity he created Alternative Investment Strategies for this
 global business.  Before being appointed CIO and Head of Alternative
 Investment Strategies, Mr. Cohen was Head of Alternative Investment Management
 Strategies/Investment Management for Citibank Global Asset Management a
 position he held since 1995.
