BALI, Indonesia, Dec. 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Last week "WishMakers," a compelling film about the special needs adults who make wine in Israel's Jezreel Valley, was recognized as the Best Film at the International Film Festival for Spirituality, Religion and Vision. The film will return to be screened for a second time in Jakarta, Indonesia, from December 2 to December 9.
The film was produced and directed by Livingston, New Jersey resident, Cheryl Halpern, a partner at HQ-Creative LLC and co-produced and co-directed by New Yorker, Elena Neuman Lefkowitz, "WishMakers" focuses on the Tulip winery, which partners with the residents of the special needs community of Kfar Tikvah, the Village of Hope. In heart-warming interviews, these amazing individuals share their personal pride at being integral members of a successful winemaking team as well as their joy in knowing that profits from their WishMaker wine goes to the Make A Wish Foundation-Israel to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses.
Halpern produced "WishMakers" for its universal message of tolerance and communal responsibility. The documentary is a testimonial to individuals who personify the values of respect, dignity and compassion for one another regardless of ethnicity, gender, age or physical or mental handicaps.
