CALGARY, Jan. 28, 2014 /CNW/ - Drillform Technical Services Ltd. is pleased to announce the launch of the Bulldog 90 Automated Floor Wrench for new build and retrofit drilling rigs. The Bulldog 90 improves safety on the drill floor by removing rig personnel from the rotating zone while making connections. The wrench is operated solely by a hard mounted console and wireless remote control.
The patent pending 360° clamping system reduces slippage, tool joint wear and pipe distortion to extend the life of the drill string. Preprogrammed thread profiles ensure accurate and consistent make up torques on each connection, which reduces or eliminates associated thread damage.
The Bulldog 90's compact and rugged design was created specifically for ease of service. It's machined; modular components increase durability and facilitate quick maintenance in the field. Drillform offers a variety of delivery systems with the flexibility to work with clients to identify the best solution.
