DuPont Names McKinsey's David G. Bills Vice President of Corporate Plans

    WILMINGTON, Del., April 17 /PRNewswire/ -- DuPont (NYSE:   DD) today
 announced the appointment of David G. Bills, 39, as vice president - Corporate
 Plans, effective May 1.
     Bills is currently a partner in the Chicago office of McKinsey & Company,
 providing strategic guidance and consultation on a wide range of issues facing
 major industrial and technology companies.
      "The breadth of Dave's experience and his proven track record in
 strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and marketing for major
 corporations make him an ideal fit for DuPont," said John W. Himes, DuPont

     At McKinsey, Bills has served as co-leader of the firm's worldwide Growth
 Strategy Practice and is a member of the Chemicals and Corporate Strategy
 Practices.  He also was the founder of the McKinsey Business-to-Business
 Marketing Practice.  Prior to McKinsey, Bills was employed by Exxon.
     He has a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of
 Wisconsin and an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business.
