Duraswitch PushGate Selected for New Gas Pump Panels

Apr 10, 2001, 01:00 ET from Duraswitch Industries, Inc.

PHOENIX, April 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Duraswitch Industries, Inc.
(Nasdaq: DSWT) patented PushGate technology is providing a custom panel
solution for switch manufacturer Xymox Technologies' development of selector
keys, soft keys and ATM keypads used in gas pumps.
Xymox is manufacturing the control panels for Dresser Wayne, Dresser Inc.,
a leader in design and development of technology for the retail petroleum
industry. Prototype panels are in final design and volume production is
 expected late 2001/early 2002.
"Non-tactile membrane switches are found in most of today's gas pump
control panels," said Doug Doty, Director of Sales and Marketing, Xymox
Technologies. "Because these switches do not provide any feedback, consumers
often use keys, the gas pump nozzle or anything in their hands to hit the
buttons, causing damage and expensive service calls and downtime. Before now,
there was not another alternative. Now Duraswitch has developed, tested and
patented a durable and reliable product with superior tactile response. It's
the best of both worlds: consumers can have a great experience at the pump,
and Dresser Wayne will have a robust, durable product."
"The gas pump industry has desired tactile switches in their control
panels," said Duraswitch Vice President of Business Development Tim Kuhn.
"And Duraswitch has developed the right technology at the right time. Our
high quality next-generation switches are making big waves in our industry and
provide the perfect solution for Dresser Wayne."
"We are all reaping the benefits of licensing in this situation," said
Duraswitch President Bob Brilon. "Xymox has a strong customer relationship
with Dresser Wayne that they will maintain. Dresser Wayne desires PushGate
technology for its benefits and we receive royalty revenue for our
 innovation."

Xymox is one of North America's largest designers and high volume
