E Com Ventures, Inc.'s Wholly Owned Subsidiary, Perfumania Marketing, Reports Sales for the Month of March 2001

    MIAMI, April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- E Com Ventures, Inc. (Nasdaq: ECMV)
 announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, Perfumania Marketing,
 reported retail sales of approximately $11,741,000 which were 4.8% lower than
 the same month in the prior year. Comparable-store sales declined by 3.4%,
 compared to the record performance increase of the prior year.
     Ilia Lekach, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of E Com Ventures, Inc.,
 said, "Given our record sales performance of last year and reduced consumer
 spending attributable to the depressed retail environment, we believe our
 marketing strategy is effective and that our retail sales are strong. Our
 closure of 29 marginal stores since last year confirms that our current sales
 continue to outperform the retail industry."
