BELMONT, Calif., April 17 /PRNewswire/ -- E2open, the leading secure
collaboration network for the electronics industry, today announced the
appointment of Toshikazu Yosumi as vice president and general manager of
E2open's operations in Japan. A 38-year veteran of Matsushita Electric Co.
Ltd, Mr. Yosumi will be responsible for developing and expanding E2open's
Japanese presence and fostering relationships between manufacturers and
suppliers in world's second-largest market for electronics. Mr. Yosumi's
hiring marks another key milestone in E2open's Asia Pacific expansion,
following the rapid openings of offices in Singapore and Taiwan/Greater China
and the recent appointment of a Korean general manager.
Mr. Yosumi brings to E2open extensive knowledge of electronics and
communications from Matsushita Electric, the powerhouse behind Panasonic-brand
products. During nearly four decades at Matsushita, Mr. Yosumi served in
several capacities including engineer of Technics record turntables and CD
players, director of Laser Disk and director of DVD product development and
sales. Most recently, he was chief product strategy officer for audio, video
and computer (AVC) technologies. Leading a division of more than
15,000 people, he proposed and created new business models and promoted the
strategic business for Matsushita's flagship line of broadcast, industrial,
home and office AVC digital technologies.
"The success of E2open's global expansion depends on our ability to hire
strong leaders who are intimately familiar with regional needs," said Mark
Holman, president and CEO of E2open. "Japan is the second largest market for
electronic products and Mr. Yosumi has developed deep ties with top
electronics companies. His wealth of hands-on design, development and
production experience will go far to communicate our global value proposition
 to Japan's electronics industry."
In addition to his role with Matsushita AVC, Mr. Yosumi was instrumental
in developing its optical disk business, dedicating 11 years to managing the
production and sale of optical disks, PD optical media products and advanced
storage Magneto-Optical (ASMO) systems. These innovative technologies are
responsible for dramatically improving the quality and functionality of disk
 storage.
"The Japanese market represents an important and influential sector in the
electronics industry," Mr. Yosumi said. "E2open's strong Japanese founder base
and commitment to this region present substantial opportunity for Japanese
companies to strengthen relationships throughout their supply chain. I am
proud to be spearheading E2open's presence in Japan and believe the time is
right to integrate this community more deeply into the global electronics
 industry."
