Elizabeth Hansen Joins Guy Carpenter

    NEW YORK, April 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Guy Carpenter & Company, Inc. announced
 today that Elizabeth (Beth) Hansen has joined the firm as Senior Vice
 President, responsible for all Instrat activities in the Mid-America region,
 including catastrophe modeling, financial modeling and actuarial services.  In
 this new role, she will also work as part of the firm's Finite Specialty
 Practice to assist in the development of finite modeling capabilities.
     Guy Carpenter Instrat offers leading-edge quantitative skills and modeling
 tools to help clients optimize their reinsurance decision-making process.  Ms.
 Hansen is based in the firm's Minneapolis office.
     Prior to joining Guy Carpenter, Ms. Hansen served as Senior Vice President
 for E. W. Blanch Company, where she managed the financial modeling and
 actuarial departments as well as provided actuarial and dynamic financial
 analysis consulting services to insurance companies.  In addition, Ms. Hansen
 was the primary actuary at E. W. Blanch to support aggregate reinsurance
 design and placement.  Ms. Hansen's career also includes various positions at
 John Deere Insurance Group, most recently as the actuary for John Deere
 Transportation Services in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.   She is a fellow of the
 Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) and a member of the American Academy of
 Actuaries (MAAA) and holds a BA degree in Mathematics from Luther College in
 Decorah, Iowa.
