ST. LOUIS, April 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Enterprise Rent-A-Car today was ranked highest in customer satisfaction among leisure rentals at or near airports, according to a nationwide study released by J.D. Power and Associates. It is the third consecutive year that Enterprise, the largest rental car company in North America, ranked highest in a J.D. Power and Associates Domestic Airport Rental Car Customer Satisfaction Study. In 1999 and 2000, Enterprise ranked highest in customer satisfaction with rentals at or near airports. Enterprise began expanding its operations to serve air travelers just over three years ago. In the 2001 study, Enterprise was ranked highest among leisure rentals by earning the highest scores in four out of the five factors that comprise overall customer satisfaction: customer pick-up, rates/value, vehicle return and reservations. Leisure travelers account for approximately half of all U.S. air travel. The study draws from the evaluations of more than 2,900 air travelers. It is the only independent, nationally representative study measuring customer satisfaction among U.S. rental car customers who rent at or near airports. "Leisure air travelers, many of whom travel infrequently, appreciate the lower rental rates and the personalized service we've always offered at our more than 4,000 non-airport locations throughout the world," Enterprise President and Chief Executive Officer Andy Taylor said. "Since a lot of these travelers are not as familiar with renting a vehicle, they welcome the extra attention they receive from Enterprise -- a personal commitment that our professional employees gladly make to ensure the rental process is smooth and enjoyable." Enterprise serves 97 of the top 100 airports in the continental United States and provides airport rates that are up to 20 percent lower than its competitors. "Our goal at Enterprise never has been to be the biggest, but the best, so we're thrilled with the results of this study," Taylor said. "We want to be the airport rental car provider that travelers seek because they prefer our favorable prices and personalized brand of service, from helping with luggage to giving directions to showing customers where to find the windshield wiper switch. "We believe the study illustrates our loyalty to customers. Enterprise employees' personal service shows our customers just how much we value them -- all of them. We provide superior customer service to all air travelers, not just a select group of frequent flyers. That's what keeps them coming back not only to our airport facilities but our non-airport locations as well." Founded in 1957, Enterprise Rent-A-Car is headquartered in St. Louis, MO and has more than 4,400 offices located throughout the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland and Germany. Enterprise is the largest rental car company in North America and was named by CIO magazine as one of the "100 Companies Most Likely to Succeed in the Next Millennium."
