Envara Announces Its Entrance into the 5GHz Broadband Wireless Networking Market

Company to Focus on Solutions for the IEEE 802.11a and Current Wireless

Networking Developing Standards

Apr 02, 2001, 01:00 ET from Envara Inc.

PALO ALTO, Calif. and KFAR SABA, Israel, April 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Envara
Inc. (formerly hLAN) today announced its focus on the design and
implementation of silicon solutions for wireless networking in the 5GHz band,
that are compatible with the IEEE 802.11a standard and its evolving protocol
developments. Envara's approach is centered on the application of the
company's accumulated professional expertise to create complete, extremely
low-power chip-set solutions for wireless networking including reference
 designs, networking software and drivers.
Izik Kirshenbaum, president and CEO of Envara, stated: "A variety of users
are beginning to look for wireless networking devices. Corporate users seek
to mobilize their access-to-data, in the office and on the road, using their
laptops, while home users seek to link multiple PC's and multimedia devices as
broadband connectivity brings data into the home at ever faster rates."
Kirshenbaum continued, "Envara is committed to meeting future challenges in
the various wireless networking markets and supporting its customers to
upgrading their products via the developing wireless networking standards and
 applications in the 5GHz band."
Envara has gathered professionals in wireless data transmission and
semiconductor design to develop industry-leading wireless networking
technology. They are developing wireless 802.11a compatible networking
products, which are effective and practicable for deployment in corporate,
public access or home markets. To achieve their vision of transparent
worldwide wireless networking, Envara's professionals have become recognized
contributors to the major 5GHz wireless networking standards bodies at IEEE
and ETSI. Envara products enable maximum compatibility with the various
existing and developing WLAN standards through SW upgrades -- such as Quality
of Service (QoS) for multimedia and entertainment applications, enhanced
security for better data privacy, Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) and
Transmit Power Control (TPC) for world wide operation and installation ease.
As a result, Envara recently introduced a unique proposal for unifying the
current 5GHz wireless networking standards via a simple, backwards compatible,
migration from the existing IEEE 802.11a and HiperLAN2 standards to a unified
 protocol based on upcoming standards.
Envara's depth of technical expertise and tremendous accumulated
experience in wireless data transmission drives their ability to realize
innovative wireless networking chipset solutions, tailored to customers'
 specific needs.
