ERA Care Communities to Develop New Retirement Community On the Sammamish Plateau

    SEATTLE, April 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Era Care Communities is developing a new
 retirement community on the Sammamish Plateau in Issaquah, it was announced
 recently by Eli Almo, president. The community is scheduled to open in Autumn
 2002.
     ERA Care's new community, named University House at Issaquah, is the
 second collaboration with the University of Washington Retirement Association
 (UWRA), complementing the programs at University House at Wallingford.
     The new community will offer 215 residential apartments and attractive
 community areas, including a swimming pool, elegant dining rooms, recreation
 and fitness centers, wellness clinic and programs, garden courtyards, and a
 computer resource center.
     The community will offer both Independent and Assisted Living services in
 apartment homes ranging from studios (approximately 500 square feet) to
 extremely spacious two-bedroom-two bath-plus den penthouses (over 2000 square
 feet).
     This Issaquah community represents the sixth ERA Care community. Rental
 preference will be given to University retirees, but the community will also
 be open to the general public. Other high-quality ERA Care communities
 include:  University House at Wallingford, Ida Culver House Ravenna, Ida
 Culver House Broadview, The Lakeshore near Renton, and The Gardens at Town
 Square in Downtown Bellevue.
     As is true of all ERA Care Communities, there will be no "buy-in" or
 "entrance fee" required for resident, just a monthly rental fee. A range of
 popular services will be included in the monthly rental fee as will
 recreational and cultural activities. ERA Care transportation will be
 available for local medical and business appointments, and for scheduled
 shopping activities. Staff will be on site 24-hours per day, and there will be
 an emergency call system in each apartment.
