LOS ANGELES, Aug. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Ergobaby®, the award-winning designer of premium ergonomic baby carriers, announces a new carrier designed in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and in support of Susan G. Komen®. In 2016-2017, Ergobaby will make a guaranteed minimum donation of $25,000 to Komen in connection with the Ribbons Carrier regardless of sales ($5 per Ribbons Carrier).
Ergobaby is proud to support Komen in its efforts to save lives and inspire hope for all who have been affected by breast cancer. Through its Carry For A Cure initiative, Ergobaby will help spread the message of education and prevention to their parenting community by sharing the inspirational stories of real parents who are breast cancer survivors. Their stories will be featured on product packaging, promoted on the Ergobaby website and shared through social media channels.
"At Ergobaby, we seek to find new ways to support families through every phase of life. Breast cancer has impacted many of the families we serve, as well as those of us at Ergobaby. Everyone has a friend, family member or co-worker affected by this disease. Recently, one of our own team members, Cynthia Neiman, battled breast cancer. We were truly inspired by Cynthia's strength and designed this carrier to honor her and demonstrate our support in the quest for a cure," says Margaret Hardin, CEO of Ergobaby. "We want to take this opportunity to help spread the message of education and prevention among our parenting community and beyond in support of all the parents who fight this battle every day."
The Ribbons Carrier is an extension of Ergobaby's award-winning Original Carriers Collection. It is crafted with the same comfort and ergonomic design that all Ergobaby carriers are known for. The Ribbons Carrier features a warm gray tone, with the iconic Susan G. Komen Running Ribbon Logo embroidered on the large front zippered pocket, as well as printed on the interior lining of the carrier.
To highlight the strength of those families battling breast cancer, Ergobaby collaborated with breast cancer survivor Nikki Weiss-Goldstein and her wife Jill Goldstein to share their family's inspiring story. Justin Baldoni, star of the CW's Jane The Virgin, and his production company Wayfarer crafted an intimate video portrait of Nikki and Jill's perseverance through diagnosis, surgery, and finally recovery to the point that Nikki can finally wear her baby close to her heart. The video will premier in October for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, along with other breast cancer survival stories from parents in the Ergobaby community.
Ergobaby will also be continuing its support for Susan G. Komen in the community by participating in the Susan G. Komen Orange County Race for the Cure®, and encouraging its retailers and parenting community to join the event.
