Event Management Agency, LDJ Productions, Launches NY-Based Startup Accelerator, 'FUTURES NYC'
Applications opening Fall 2017 for the in-house project aimed at identifying and supporting emerging technology in the live events space
NEW YORK, June 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- LDJ Productions, a full-service event management agency today announced the creation of a startup accelerator, "FUTURES NYC", to be housed at the company's new headquarters at 110 Leroy Street. Focused on emerging technology in the live events industry, FUTURES will provide workspace, access to clients, mentorship, and tailored workshops to participating startups, curating a community of like-minded entrepreneurs. Applications for consideration in Batch 1 are open from August 1 through October 15, 2017, at futuresnyc.com. The program will begin in mid-January 2018.
FUTURES will drastically enhance the technical offerings for LDJ Productions' current clients spanning fashion, technology, media, auto, finance, and beauty. LDJ Productions' client roster includes ongoing work with Automation Anywhere, L'Oréal, Reebok, Scripps Networks, Shiseido, The New York Times, ULTA, Viacom, Fairchild Media, and Yahoo! The company is also the agency producers of WME/IMG New York Fashion Week.

Those chosen for Batch 1 will immediately receive $10,000 in exchange for 4% equity, with the opportunity for FUTURES to invest up to an additional $190,000 in the form of a convertible note. Each Batch will run for six months, however, promising startups will be given the opportunity to extend their engagement with the program for up to an additional two terms of six months each. Each term will end with a live investor presentation. Mentorship, client development, and professional growth will be key parts of the FUTURES experience.
Also, announced today was the creation of FUTURES Firesides, a monthly in-person speaker series available for free to all FUTURES participants and future alumni, and available to the public online. Firesides is devoted to spreading ideas in the form of short, engaging talks and open floor Q&As focused on startup stories, presentations from engineering and technology leaders, operational best practices, business development, sales strategies, and other industry-relevant topics that will be determined by the FUTURES community.
