SANTA MONICA, Calif., April 23 /PRNewswire Interactive News Release/ --
Experience Hendrix and UTV Records will partner for the May 8 release of a new
2-CD set, "Voodoo Child: The Jimi Hendrix Collection." The newly-compiled
collection of Hendrix favorites will be marketed via a direct-response
television ad campaign, as well as distribution to traditional and online
retail. "Voodoo Child: The Jimi Hendrix Collection" features 30 songs,
including many of the greatest moments of the legendary guitarist's career.
Produced by Janie Hendrix and John McDermott, and remastered by original
Hendrix studio engineer Eddie Kramer, the new set contains a 20-page color
booklet with rare photos and an essay by noted critic and MTV personality Kurt
Loder. Punk rock icon Henry Rollins narrates the project's 30, 60, 90 and
120-second direct-response television spots, to begin airing in May on major
 network and cable channels.
Disc One includes classic tracks from Jimi Hendrix's three original studio
albums, "Are You Experienced," "Axis: Bold As Love," and "Electric Ladyland,"

recordings, "Izabella" and "Stepping Stone," previously issued on a 1970
single. Disc Two is comprised of live performance recordings, with five
exclusive tracks, including a previously unreleased version of "Foxey Lady"
recorded at the guitarist's famous 1970 performance in Maui, HI.
