FANUC Robotics Introduces New Technologies At International Robots & Vision Show 2001

 America, Inc. will introduce the latest in robotic technology at the
 International Robots & Vision Expo 2001 in booth #500 at the Donald E.
 Stephens Convention Center, Rosemont (Chicago), IL, from June 5 to 7.

     New products slated for introduction include the ARC Mate 100i MODEL B, LR
 Mate 100i MODEL B, the i Pendant and several new software technologies.  In
 addition FANUC Robotics will feature the recently introduced R-2000i, the
 Y-16i YAGROBOT and the LR Mate 200i in a memory board insertion cell using
 visLOC and visTRAC.
 
     ARC Mate 100i MODEL B and the i Pendant
     FANUC Robotics will feature its new ARC Mate 100i MODEL B in an arc-
 welding cell on a tubular part.  The new ARC Mate 100i MODEL B, the latest
 generation arc-welding robot, features a compact wrist for easy reach.  ARC
 Mate 100i MODEL B with six axes has the payload capacity of 6kg, exclusively
 designed for arc welding applications.  The motion envelope of the arm
 includes that of the previous model inclusively, and has 8% larger horizontal
 stroke. This large motion envelope enables the robot to weld larger parts,
 such as frames of automobile part, construction machines, etc.  The wrist size
 is also 19% smaller, enabling the robot to enter into smaller opening in the
 workspace.  The robot joint speed is significantly faster, making the cycle
 time shorter.
     The cell will also demonstrate ARCworks PRO PC package, which acts as a
 production supervisor to maintain the highest level of throughput and quality
 from an arc welding system.
     The cell will also feature the new i Pendant, a new color graphic user
 interface device.  The i Pendant provides an innovative user interface, to the
 FANUC SYSTEM R-J3i MODEL B controller.  The intuitive color graphic interface,
 presented in a multi-window environment, makes the i Pendant easy to use and
 easy to learn.  It also provides the user with integrated help and diagnostics
 functions as well as enhanced robot and process data.  This provides an
 integrated environment for displaying critical information, at the robot.
     A PC Center in the booth will also showcase the i Pendant software, the
 Diagnostic Resource Center, which provides enhanced troubleshooting
 information and FANUC Robotics' eDoc electronic documentation.  FANUC Robotics
 will also feature its Customer Resource Center (cRc) Internet site, which
 supports online parts ordering, access to customer support information, and
 order tracking for registered customers with Internet access 24 hours a day.
 
     LR Mate 100i MODEL B
     The new LR Mate 100i MODEL B with the new R-J3iMate Controller will be
 featured in standard robot loader system -- the CNC Mate, which will be
 tending a FANUC Robodrill.  The standard system provides machine tool OEMs,
 distributors and direct end-users a compact and low-cost solution for machine
 tending.
     The new LR Mate 100i MODEL B, the next generation in the LR Mate family,
 will demonstrate speed improvements for faster load/unload.  The new unit
 sports a slimmer arm by 16%, which has further enhanced the miniature size.
 The robot can enter/exit the machine tool with smaller entrance size.  Though
 the arm size is smaller, the robot has enhanced loading capabilities.  The
 wrist moment capability has increased 33%, and maximum load inertia has
 increased 78%.
     The LR Mate 100i MODEL B utilizes the newly developed intelligent robot
 controller, the R-J3iMate.  By leveraging the system architectural
 advancements of the larger R-J3iB controller, the R-J3iMate has achieved
 significant improvements in its servo performance and connectivity
 capabilities.  As a result, its new acceleration/deceleration servo algorithm
 results in reduced vibration and the world's-fastest motion performance in its
 class for the standard evaluation cycle (25-300-25mm round trip motion).
 
     R-2000i
     The new FANUC Robot R-2000i/165F will be featured with the F-200i in a
 large part handling, flexible spot welding system.  The R-2000i/165F will be
 performing a heavy-payload, large-part material handling application,
 showcasing the motion performance achieved with new advanced motion
 algorithms/arm bending compensation.  The F-200i is featured as a spot welder
 in the system.
     The R-2000i/165F robot is FANUC Robotics' latest-generation heavy payload,
 high performance industrial robot and features the new FANUC SYSTEM R-J3i
 MODEL B robot controller.  The R-2000i/165F represents an advanced evolution
 of the company's industry-leading S-430i series of robots.  While maintaining
 many of the features of the S-430i, the R-2000i provides even higher value

     Y-16i YAGROBOT
     The Y-16i YAGROBOT will simulate laser cutting on a hydroformed auto
 chassis.  This demonstration will highlight Cell Finder, an automatic feature
 for robot path adjustment due to part or tooling changes.  Cell Finder allows
 the user to move the hydroformed part and the robot recalibrates the workcell.
 TCP Mate will be used to monitor and maintain the tool center point of the
 cutting head.  In addition, the cell will feature Shape Generation and FANUC
 Robotics HMI Option provides graphical cell interface without the need for a
 PLC.
 
     LR Mate 200i
     The LR Mate 200i robot will be featured in a memory board insertion system
 using FANUC Robotics' visLOC and visTRAC vision products.  The LR Mate 200i
 six-axis robot will insert a FANUC memory daughterboard onto a FANUC R-J3 CPU
 motherboard.  The system will use visTRAC, which can handle the complexity of
 locating and tracking loosely or non-fixtured moving parts.
 
     Palletizing cell
     FANUC Robotics will demonstrate standard palletizing from an infeed
 conveyor and depalletizing from pallets with a M-410iHS with the R-J3
 Controller.  The robot will be equipped with a standard three-case vacuum
 gripper.  FANUC Robotics will also showcase its new offline palletizing
 simulation package "PalletPRO."  This visual 3-D simulation package aims to
 allow users to set up a palletizing cell, verify system throughput and verify
 reach and interference zones and reduce cell integration time.
