Finalists Selected for Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce's Health Care Heroes(R) Awards Program

 Chamber of Commerce's Health Industry Group has announced the list of
 finalists for its 2001 Health Care Heroes(R) Awards. The luncheon program is
 scheduled for Friday, May 11, from 12 noon to 1:45 p.m., at the Wyndham Miami
 - Biscayne Bay, 1601 Biscayne Boulevard. The featured speaker will be the
 Honorable Connie Mack.
     An extensive spectrum of nominations have been received. Finalists for the
 2001 Award for Health Care Professionals are Shedrick Boren, Director, Special
 Immunology Services, Mercy Hospital; Walter Livingstone, Administrator, Office
 of Emergency Management, Miami-Dade County Health Department; and Clyde B.
 McCoy, Director, Comprehensive Drug Research Center. Finalists for the
 Individuals of Merit Award are David Lawrence, Jr., President, The Early
 Childhood Initiative; Eliza Perry, R.N., Florida Division, American Cancer
 Society; and Manolo Reyes, J.D., Administrative Director, Mercy Hospital. For
 the Physicians Award finalists are George Battle, M.D., private practice;
 Julio E. Ferreiro, M.D., Professor, UM School of Medicine; and Arthur M.
 Fournier, M.D., UM School of Medicine. Institution finalists are Fellowship
 House, Miami Children's Hospital and the University of Miami School of
 Nursing. Finalists for Programs are Blue Cross Blue Shield Advanced Renal
 Options, March of Dimes MOMmobile and UM/R.R. Moton Health Center. Finalists
 for the Volunteer Award are Joann Crebbin, R.N., Good News Care Center; Kevin
 Packman, Esq., ALS Recovery Foundation; and Ady Viera, Mercy Hospital. Youth
 Volunteers finalists are Kyle Amber, Palmetto Middle School; Robert Hernan
 Clark, Miami Carol City Senior H.S.; and Michael Rosenberg, Miami Palmetto
 Senior H.S.
     The AXA Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to honor the
 individual who, over his or her lifetime, has made a significant impact or
 changed history in the health care industry. Rosebud Lightbourn Foster, Ph.D.,
 Professor, Health Services Administration, Florida International University,
 has been selected as the recipient of this award. This award is sponsored by
 AXA Advisors, founding sponsor of the Health Care Heroes(R) Award program.
 The Judges Special Recognition Award will be presented to The Jackson Hutson
 Family, honoring five generations of Florida physicians.
     The 2001 Health Care Heroes(R) sponsors are: AXA Advisors, AvMed Health
