First American Title Insurance Company Names Frank J. Curry Senior Vice President of Los Angeles Escrow Division

    SANTA ANA, Calif., April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- First American Title Insurance
 Company, one of the nation's largest title insurers and a member of The First
 American Corporation (NYSE:   FAF) family of companies, today announced the
 appointment of Frank J. Curry as senior vice president of First American Title
 Insurance Company's Los Angeles escrow division.
     Curry will be responsible for managing the company's Los Angeles County
 escrow division and building an Escrow Productivity Improvement Center
 (E.P.I.C.) for the Southern California region based in Santa Ana, Calif.  The
 center's goal will be to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
     Curry has more than 15 years of experience in the mortgage lending
 industry, most recently as executive vice president and chief operating
 officer of the Long Beach Financial Corporation, which he helped take public
 in 1997.  Curry planned and managed the implementation of the corporate
 nationwide expansion and supervised the company's four business units.  He
 also developed regional sales divisions and directed the staffing and
 recruitment of over 2000 employees.
     Curry received a bachelor's degree in economics from California State
 University, Long Beach.  He is a member of the Mortgage Banking Association,
 the California Association of Real Estate Lenders and the National Home Equity
 Lenders Association.  He and his wife, Denise, live in Orange, Calif., with
 their two daughters.
