FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., April 24 /PRNewswire Interactive News Release/ --
Stan Smith, former spokesperson for Wayne Huizenga, has launched xtology, a
communications company that offers advertising, public relations-public
 affairs and digital convergence services.
"My experience in the business world, government, professional sports and
Internet services has shown me the value of bringing together smart people,
new business ideas and technology. Many of these industries cross paths and
generate new business off one another. Partnering with one firm for all
promotional and media needs empowers our clients to put out cohesive,
interactive and branded messages that represent the business as a whole.
xtology produces everything from interactive DVD experiences and Internet
services to all forms of print media," stated Mr. Smith.
The name "xtology" means two things. To "xtol" (or "extol") means to lift
up and praise. The suffix "-logy" signifies a learned discipline or study,
which appropriately describes the business knowledge leverage xtology has by
offering a breadth of services to one client. Acquiring pre-existing
resources, xtology boasts over 150 years of experience working in advertising,
public relations-public affairs and digital convergence.
Currently, Mr. Smith is a member of the State of Florida's Information
Services Technology Development Task Force (IT Florida.com), which was created
to promote the emergence of Florida as the high-tech capital for business and
services related to state-of-the-art telecommunications. Mr. Smith was
appointed to the Task Force by former Florida Speaker of the House John
Thrasher, and sits on the Board of the Florida Association of Broadcasters.
Mr. Smith most recently served as Vice President of Fusive where he headed
up the brand creation and rollout of MyFlorida.com -- the State of Florida's
Official Web Portal for Governor Jeb Bush. Before joining Fusive, Mr. Smith
served as Director of Communications at Huizenga Holdings, Inc. (HHI), and
personal spokesman for H. Wayne Huizenga, world renowned entrepreneur and the
first person to build three Fortune 500 companies: Waste Management,
 Blockbuster and AutoNation.
Prior to working for Mr. Huizenga, Mr. Smith held a number of positions in
the public affairs arena, including Director of Communications for the Florida
Department of State in 1995, and Press Secretary and spokesman for the Florida
Republican Party from 1989 until 1992. He was also Communications Field
Advisor in 11 southern states for the Republican National Committee under the
late Chairman Lee Atwater in 1989.
Mr. Smith also served as a State Communications Director for George Bush's
campaign for President in 1988. Mr. Smith is a 1986 graduate of Wheaton
