    WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., April 11 /PRNewswire/ --
FRISBY TECHNOLOGIES INC. (Nasdaq: FRIZ), the developer of patented
COMFORTEMP(R), the world's leading brand of dynamic climate control materials,
today announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted the
company four U.S. patents for products and processes related to improving the
mechanical strength and flame resistance of both its THERMASORB(R) thermal

These are the first patents awarded to and invented by the company, as
opposed to the acquisition of exclusive rights to patents through its earlier
licensing agreements with other parties. The company now has rights to 23
patents that protect its thermal management products and processes; 10
additional patents are pending. The following patents were awarded:

     Gel-Coated Microcapsules

     * Patent No. 6,099,894: The company has invented microcapsules coated with
a hardened gel material that gives the capsules improved durability
under mechanical stress, as well as flame resistance. The patent
broadly covers many types of microcapsules, including the company's
       THERMASORB thermal control additives.

     * Patent No. 6,171,647: The company has developed an inventive method for
       making the gel-coated microcapsules.

     * The U.S. Trademark Office also recently allowed a third related patent
covering the various products that can be manufactured containing the
gel-coated microcapsules (i.e., the company's COMFORTEMP foams and
       fabrics).

Gel-Coated Materials with Increased Flame Retardancy

     * Patent Number 6,197,415: The company has also invented gel-coated
materials that provide enhanced flame, physical and chemical resistance.
These treated materials can be used in the manufacturing of protective
gear and accessories used in extreme environments.

"The development and attainment of unique and marketable intellectual
properties remain at the core of our business strategy," said Greg Frisby,
chairman and chief executive officer. "Our patents and trademarks provide
Frisby with a competitive advantage and will continue to add value to our
 customers and shareholders."
Duncan Russell, president and chief operating officer added: "These new
developments are important to Frisby because industrial products often require
more robust component materials than consumer products. We are also very
proud of the fact that these market-driven, application-oriented inventions
were created by our own technical team in response to the needs of our
 prospective industrial customers."
Frisby is a global leader in the development of dynamic thermal management
solutions for the apparel, footwear and sporting goods, packaging, home
furnishings and healthcare industries. COMFORTEMP insulating and cooling
foams, fabrics, leathers, rubber and gels can be found in products from major
consumer and industrial brands worldwide. For more information, contact
