Frontstep Expands Hosting Solution

Frontstep.net Offers Fast Deployment in Hosted Environment

Apr 12, 2001, 01:00 ET from Frontstep, Inc.

COLUMBUS, Ohio, April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Frontstep, Inc. (Nasdaq: FSTP), a
leading global provider of business systems for midsize distributors and
manufacturers, has unveiled Frontstep.net to provide customers with hosted
enterprise, e-business and supply chain solutions. With Frontstep.net ,
companies can choose from a network of prequalified application service
providers (ASPs) to deploy Frontstep applications on a hosted basis - allowing
Frontstep customers to focus on their core competencies while reaching out to
customers and suppliers via the Internet.
The program leverages an extensive group of Frontstep.net ASP partners who
provide various service levels based on each customer's implementation
requirements, IT involvement, technical capabilities and budget limitations.
"As companies embrace network-centric, collaborative strategies that bring
them closer to their customers and suppliers, they require an increased level
of system support that can't always be fulfilled by in-house personnel and
technical resources alone. In response, many companies are turning to hosted
services," said Daryll Wartluft, executive vice president of products for
Frontstep. "With Frontstep.net , our customers have ready access to the
infrastructure and managed services that allow them to concentrate on their
core competencies and leave installation, maintenance and ongoing support to
one of Frontstep's proven ASP partners. Because we prequalify the providers,
our customers can implement their Frontstep solution quickly, without the up-
front effort to qualify and set up an ASP provider on their own."
Frontstep currently has agreements with several ASP providers, including
Agilera, DataReturn, FirstLocus and Imagecom. ASP providers are selected based
on their technical infrastructure, level of managed services and type of
application experience. Customers can then select from a showcase of providers
 to satisfy their particular requirements.
