Apr 11, 2001, 01:00 ET from Geoworks Corporation

ALAMEDA, Calif., April 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Dave Grannan, CEO of
Geoworks Corporation (Nasdaq: GWRX), a leading innovator in mobile data
communications services and technologies, spoke today at the AEA Financial
Conference in Monterey. During his presentation, Grannan said that the
company's performance for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2001, would meet
 guidance previously provided to investors.

"We continue to execute against our business plan and expect revenue
growth to be in line with our previously stated expectations of between
10% and 15% sequential growth," said Grannan. "We expect to report record
revenue for the fourth quarter between $4.7 and $4.8 million, bringing revenue
for the full year ended March 31, 2001 to a record $16 million plus, up over
 35% from a year ago."
"We also did well on the operating front. With a continued focus on
increasing efficiencies, we believe operating expenses for the quarter will be
slightly lower than our previous guidance of 5% - 10% growth from Q3 to Q4,"
 Grannan said.
"The past year has seen momentous change at Geoworks," Grannan continued.
"We established a leadership position in the mobile data software field with
the commercial launch of a family of software and services including our
Mobile Server+(TM) product in Japan, our Mobile ASP(TM) service in the United
States and Europe and the acquisition of the AirBoss(TM) wireless division
 from Telcordia Technologies."
"We believe the market for mobile data software provides Geoworks with a
tremendous opportunity for long-term success," Grannan said. "The growth
expectations are certainly compelling. There are more than 35 million mobile
Internet users worldwide today, expected to grow in excess of 75% annually and
to top 613 million by 2005. In addition, the mobile workforce in the United
States alone is expected to top 50 million by 2004. We believe enabling
mobile access to corporate enterprise and Internet information provides
companies with compelling competitive advantages and we will see accelerating
adoption of this technology over the next several years."
"Geoworks is well positioned to capitalize on this market potential. We
have a family of scaleable, world-class products in the market today as
evidenced by their adoption at leading companies such as Toshiba, United
Airlines and Cingular Interactive, the second largest wireless-service
provider in the United States. We have more than 7 years of experience
developing and delivering mobile data solutions, making our core developers
some of the most experienced people on the planet in wireless data. And,
companies like Nokia and Mitsubishi turn to Geoworks for assistance in
developing wireless solutions. This is still an early market, and there is a
lot of competition, but we are confident that Geoworks has what it takes to
 succeed," Grannan concluded.
Geoworks will report full financial results on April 24, after the market
close. A conference call for interested investors will be held at
2 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time. A Webcast of the call will be available at both
