Apr 04, 2001, 01:00 ET from Global Med Technologies, Inc.

DENVER, April 4 /PRNewswire/ -- National Jewish Medical and Research
Center ("National Jewish"), one of the world's premier respiratory medical and
research centers, has contracted with PeopleMed.com, Inc. ("PeopleMed"), a
subsidiary of Global Med Technologies, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: GLOB), to
utilize the company as an application service provider (ASP) for its disease
management programs in asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
(COPD). The five-year contract comes three months after the two companies
agreed to jointly launch and develop an advanced, comprehensive Internet-based
respiratory disease management program for asthma and chronic obstructive
pulmonary disease (COPD). National Jewish's medical information will be
integrated into PeopleMed's proprietary suite of Internet-based disease
management products. The terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Slated to be operational in August 2001, the new program will combine
National Jewish's intellectual property -- recognized as some of the most
authoritative in the industry with respect to respiratory illnesses - with
PeopleMed.com's innovative Internet chronic disease management software
 application.
"Our ASP will give National Jewish the most comprehensive and robust
respiratory disease management software platform on the market today," said
Michael I. Ruxin, M.D., Chairman and CEO of Global Med Technologies and
PeopleMed.com. "Combining both strengths into one software program will not
only assist medical professionals in managing a patient's chronic disease, but
will also greatly improve the quality of care for the patient, while reducing
 costs."
"Currently, thousands of patients in 40 states have access to our
expertise. PeopleMed's Internet-based suite of products will be used to more
efficiently manage our patients that suffer from asthma and COPD. The ability
to reach and more effectively help our patients is very exciting," said David
Tinkelman, M.D., vice president of Health Initiatives for National Jewish.
PeopleMed's disease management software products provide medical
professionals immediate access to comprehensive clinical information for
patients with chronic diseases. Managed care and disease management
organizations use PeopleMed's products as a way to manage and monitor patients
suffering from multiple chronic illnesses or co-morbidities by effectively
merging treatment protocols so they can be managed as one complex disease.
