Goodrich Petroleum Corporation Announces Test Results on Its Spyglass Prospect And Gives Drilling Activity Update

    HOUSTON and SHREVEPORT, La., April 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Goodrich Petroleum
 Corporation (NYSE:   GDP) today announced test results from its Spyglass
 prospect in the Lafitte Field and drilling activity update in the Lafitte,
 Burrwood and West Delta 83 Fields.
 
     -- Spyglass Prospect.  The Company has tested its Spyglass prospect at
 Lafitte Field in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana.  The LL&E No. 199 well has been
 dually completed in the 7900' and Upper Dupre sands and tested at a combined
 rate of approximately 300 barrels of oil per day.  The Company has a 100%
 working interest in the zones, subject to certain reversionary rights.
 
     -- Troon Prospect.  The initial test well for the Troon prospect at
 Lafitte Field, the Rigolets LP B No. 1 well, was spudded on April 15th and is
 projected to be drilled to a total depth of approximately 12,000 feet.  The
 Troon prospect is designed to test numerous field pays, including the 8300',
 Rigolets and Lafitte sands.  The Company has a 49% working interest in the
 Lafitte field.
 
     -- Basilio Prospect.  The Company has drilled to total depth and set pipe
 on its Basilio prospect in the West Delta 83 Field in Plaquemines Parish,
 Louisiana.  The USA No. 8 well encountered pay in the 9600' and 10,100' sands
 by log and core analysis.  The Company is in the process of completing the
 well as a single completion in the 10,100' sand.  Test results are expected
 within the next two weeks.  The Company has a 95% working interest in the West
 Delta Field.
 
     -- Sullivan Prospect.  The initial test well for the Sullivan prospect in
 the West Delta 83 Field, the State Lease 1922 No. 21, is currently drilling at
 approximately 10,500' measured depth, and is expected to reach total depth
 within the next three days.  The Company has a 95% working interest in the
 West Delta Field.
 
     -- Patterson Prospect.  An additional drilling rig is scheduled to arrive
 in the Burrwood Field and commence drilling operations on the Company's
 Patterson prospect within the next ten days.  The Patterson prospect is
 designed to test several field pays including the 10,100', 10,100' Lower and
 10,450' sands.  The Company has a 95% working interest in the Burrwood Field.
