 Granite Broadcasting Corporation (Nasdaq: GBTVK) announced today that it will
 release first quarter 2001 financial results prior to market hours on Monday
 May 7, 2001.
     The Company will host a teleconference to discuss its results on May 7th
 at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time.  To access the teleconference, please dial
 212-896-6157 ten minutes prior to the start time.  The teleconference will
 also be available via a live webcast on the investor relations portion of the
