MINNEAPOLIS, April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- The latest technologies and
processes for controlling color fidelity in professional graphic arts workflow
will be the topic of a free half-day seminar at Dunwoody Institute on
May 22nd. Nationally known experts Roy Zucca, a leader of several color
standards boards and CEO of ConsultRoy.com, and editors and columnists of
PrintMedia magazine, including Editor Gretchen Kirby and columnist Linda Manes
Goodwin, will deliver keynotes on today's production challenges and
 breakthroughs, from creation through production.
"Everyone in the graphic arts industry faces the challenge of achieving
accurate, reliable color from initial design approval to the final printed
piece -- and through the many steps in between," said Jan Curtis, Printing
Industry of Minnesota, Inc. "This seminar presents an opportunity to discuss
and hear about the new choices digital technologies are introducing to the
process of managing consistent, reliable color expectations throughout the
 workflow."
"To be competitive in the current economic environment, graphic arts
professionals need to leverage today's digital technologies wherever possible
to squeeze as much efficiency and cost savings as they can from their
workflow," Zucca said. "New technologies are making a lot of things possible,
and seminars like this one are important for helping to make print buyers and
providers smarter and more aware of their options."
The program is designed for graphic designers, ad agency creative
production executives, pre-press professionals, and commercial and quick
printers. In addition to the two keynotes, the program will include
presentations on opportunities for profit and growth in digital color
applications based on proofing, direct color printing and direct image
printing. The forum also will include solutions demonstrations and an
 applications gallery.
Printing Industry of Minnesota is sponsoring the forum in cooperation with
Xerox Corporation and the "PIA/Xerox purchasing power program," which allows
PIA members to purchase high-quality, reliable Xerox equipment under a
nationally negotiated contract. Other sponsors include industry leading
supplier Imation Corporation and PrintMedia Magazine. The Minneapolis seminar
is one of 11 Color Confidence seminars that are being held in major North
American cities during April, May and June.
