NEW YORK, April 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The first of the $12 million fleet of
new deluxe motor coaches from Gray Line New York, the premier sightseeing
company in the City, was christened today in Times Square by actors Michele
Lee and Henry Winkler in a colorful ceremony marking a new era for the 39
million tourists expected to visit New York City this year. Not since World
War II have the streets of the City seen new double-decker motor coaches. Now
tourists can enjoy the safest, most comfortable ride in environmentally
friendly, double-decker, open top coaches, a great way to enjoy the panoramas
 of New York
The launch of the buses coincides with the start of Tartan Week, adding a
'wee bit o' Scottish flavor, a tribute to Scotland where the coaches were
manufactured. Ms. Lee, star of the Broadway Show, "The Tale of the Allergist's
Wife" and Mr. Winkler, star of Neil Simon's "The Dinner Party" were joined in
the festivities by Henry McLeish, First Minister of Scotland; City Council
Speaker, Peter Vallone; Tom Lewis, President of Gray Line NY; Christyne
Lategano-Nicholas, CEO of NYC & Co. Convention and Visitors Bureau; Brian
Souter, Chairman, Stagecoach Holdings, plc and the 26 man Lothian & Borders
 Police Bagpipe Band.
The new double-deckers are wheel chair accessible, fully air-conditioned
and heated. Regardless of the weather condition -- rain, sleet, snow or
sunshine -- there is no better way to provide visitors to New York with a
ringside seat to the sights and sounds of the city.
