VANCOUVER, April 23 /PRNewswire/ - Willis W. Osborne, President of Great
Quest Metals Ltd., is pleased to announce the start of the first exploration
program on the Bourdala concessions for 2001. The program will consist of soil
sampling and geological mapping within the 8 sq km MD concession. The MD
concession is east of and adjacent to both the TD and NS concessions.
The purpose of the program is two-fold. First, it is necessary to define
several gold soil anomalies that appear to strike easterly from the NS and TD
concessions into the MD concession. One anomaly is 200 metres long with a
range of 117 to 3,959 ppb gold. This could also be interpreted as a 1,200
metre long anomaly with a 200 metre low in the middle.
The second purpose of the survey will be to attempt to trace the passage,
through the MD concession, of two northeasterly faults, striking 15 degrees
and 70 degrees, that are shown on the regional geological map of the area.
Both faults pass through the mineralized zone on the TD concession where gold
occurs within a 100 by 500 metre zone of quartz veining along a granitic dyke.
If additional granitic intrusives occur within the MD concession, it is
possible that gold mineralization can be found in and around quartz veins
within the faults near the intrusive rock.
If soil sampling on the MD concession is successful, Great Quest will
have significant gold soil anomalies on two concessions (NS and MD) and partly
defined zones of gold mineralization on two concessions (TD and BL). All
concessions are 8 sq km in area.
