New York Rx Card Provides Prescription Assistance that is Open to All New York Residents

ALBANY, N.Y., Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- New York residents have a new ally in the struggle against rising healthcare costs. The Greater New York Chamber of Commerce announced today that it will be expanding its support for the New York Rx Card. New York Rx Card is the free statewide prescription assistance program that was launched to help residents of New York State afford their prescription medications. The program, which is free to all New Yorkers, provides savings of up to 75% on prescription medications.

The Chamber will pass out free drug cards and work with their member companies to create awareness for the program. New York Rx Card has also received support from NYC Human Resources Administration, HITE: Health Information Tool for Empowerment, New York State Diabetes Campaign, and clinics/hospitals across the State.

New York Rx Card was launched to help uninsured and underinsured New Yorkers afford their prescription medications. The program can also be used by people who have health insurance coverage with no prescription benefits, which is common in many health savings accounts (HSA) and high deductible health plans.  Additionally, people who have prescription coverage can use this program for non-covered drugs.
