Greenfield Online Is Moving Its Corporate Headquarters To a 'Smart' Office in Wilton, Conn.

Apr 23, 2001, 01:00 ET from Greenfield Online, Inc.

    WILTON, Conn., April 23 /PRNewswire Interactive News Release/ --
Greenfield Online's headquarters employees are moving Thursday (April 26) to a
new corporate home that has been described as "one of the most creative"
spaces in Fairfield County, Conn., home to many impressive corporate
headquarters. The research company's Wilton staff will unplug 125 PCs and
redirect thousands of Web-based surveys to the company's new 33,000
square-foot "smart" office at 21 River Road in Wilton, Conn.
"We built an office that makes it fun for employees to come to work, but
also taps into the latest technologies to promote business efficiencies," says
President and CEO Rudy Nadilo, a Norwalk resident. "How many offices do you
know with a conference room divided by a glass-paneled overhead garage door?"
he asks. "If you are going to be successful in today's economy, your office
has to be as smart and flexible as your people," he adds.
Greenfield Online is an Internet-powered research and business information
company with clients such as Microsoft, American Express, Ford Motor Company
and Forrester Research. Founder and Chief Technology Officer Hugh Davis of
Westport is a pioneer of online focus groups and Web-enabled surveying.
While there are some enclosed offices, most of the employees will be in
modular units in large open areas where a continuous computerized Muzak sound
system will provide just the right level of "white noise" to mask sounds like
ringing phones or business conversations. A Neon "blue light runway" guides
visitors from the elevators to the reception desk and soundless TVs with
closed-captions will entertain guests waiting for meetings.
"This project was unique for us because we had the opportunity to build
the original home for a very progressive technology company," says Stamford,
Conn. architect Mark van Summern, whose van Summern Group Architects just has
merged with architectural giant Perkins Eastman of New York.
The company's offices will be closed from 3 p.m. Thursday (April 26) until
Monday (April 30). Telephone and fax numbers will remain the same. An open
house is scheduled for May 10. The new headquarters is within the same
complex, Executive Campus, when the company has been since November 1999.
