Harrah's Entertainment, Compudigm Sign Data-Visualization Agreement; SeePOWER to Be Fully Integrated Into Harrah's Teradata Warehouse

Apr 30, 2001, 01:00 ET from Harrah's Entertainment, Inc.

    LAS VEGAS, April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Harrah's Entertainment, Inc.
(NYSE: HET), the leading consumer-marketing company in the gaming industry,
announced today it has signed an agreement to install Compudigm
 International's seePOWER data-visualization software at Harrah's corporate
 headquarters in Las Vegas.
SeePOWER provides a comprehensive picture of slot machine performance
based on location, game type, denomination and overall contribution to the
property's bottom line. The agreement with Compudigm contemplates
installation of seePOWER at Harrah's casinos nationwide if certain performance
 criteria are met.
"Compudigm's visualization software, which augments Harrah's
sophisticated, industry-leading customer relationship management and slot
analysis capabilities, is expected to be a powerful tool for enhancing our
understanding of customers' preferences," said John Boushy, Harrah's
Entertainment's Senior Vice President of Operations Products and Services and
 Chief Information Officer.
"With its ability to display data from across the casino floor in a visual
format, seePOWER is a highly efficient means of using information to monitor
and improve performance," Boushy said. "This can lead to more effective
gaming-machine management and a thorough interpretation of business trends."
John Cardno, President and CEO of Compudigm, said the software enables
casinos to view operational and customer-loyalty data in a simple,
 user-friendly manner.
"By turning data into pictures, we have revolutionized the way business
professionals view data and make the business decision-making cycle easier and
 faster," Cardno said.
Under the agreement, Compudigm will integrate seePOWER into Harrah's
Entertainment's award-winning Teradata data warehouse and will access both
 customer and slot-performance information.
"This should enable Harrah's to more easily determine the most popular
slot products for our players by displaying the flow of traffic and revenues
across the casino floor," said Boushy. "Providing the right slots in the
right places for our customers is just one more way we expect to be able to
grow our revenues by enhancing customer loyalty."
Both companies are recipients of awards from The Data Warehouse Institute
(TDWI) for their innovative use of information technology. Harrah's won the
TDWI 2000 Leadership in Data Warehousing Award, while Compudigm is the winner
of TDWI's 2001 Pioneering Product Award.
