Havas Advertising Announces the Appointment of Simon Gillham As Vice-President Communications and Member of the Executive Committee

 The Havas Advertising Group (Nasdaq:   HADV; Euronext Paris: HAV.PA), the
 world's fifth largest communications group*, today announced the appointment
 of Simon Gillham as Vice-President Communications and member of the Executive
 Committee. He reports directly to Alain de Pouzilhac, Chairman and CEO of
 Havas Advertising.
     Simon Gillham, aged 45, originally of the United Kingdom, has spent a
 number of years working in communications, the majority of which were with
 major international groups. He began his career in 1981 with Thomson and in
 1991 was appointed Vice-President Communications of Thomson Consumer
 Electronics (today Thomson Multimedia). In 1994, he joined the CarnaudMetalbox
 Group to help the group's international expansion.  Following the creation of
 a sports marketing company in 1996, he ran the commercial interests of a
 professional rugby club based in London (Richmond RFC). Early in 1999, Simon
 Gillham was appointed Vice-President Communications for the Valeo Group,
 working with chairman Noel Goutard.
