HIGH POINT, N.C., Aug. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Tybro Foundation, (a new 501c3 corporation), is dedicated to ending world hunger in our lifetime. More than 80% of the funds that we receive go directly to food banks, needy families, and food giveaways that address hunger. We recently completed an event in Greensboro North Carolina in which we fed more than 2000 individuals.
Our primary mission is to provide food, scholarships and educational training to low and disadvantaged individuals and families in the community. Our trainings will focus on instructing individuals and families on how meditation can improve physical, emotional, and mental health. When properly taught to low income and disadvantage individuals, meditation techniques are cost effective tools that can improve quality of life.
A poor child may not only suffer from hunger. They are also likely not going to have adequate mental preparation for performing well in school. Inadequate preparation makes learning difficult. In this way, the cycles of poverty, poor education, and hunger are linked.
The Tybro Foundation was created by Dr. Mitchell Gibson and his wife Kathy Gibson. Dr. Gibson grew up in a poor southern family amidst hunger and poverty. He successfully used meditation techniques he learned from a book on transcendental meditation to improve his grades and expand his consciousness. He graduated from The University of North Carolina School of Medicine in 1985 and pursued a very successful career in psychiatry. His experiences as a child helped to shape his desire to become a doctor and help others.
Kathy Haynes Gibson grew up in Madera, California. She was the daughter of a Baptist Minister and an All American athlete in track and field. She graduated from The University of Southern California in 1982 and pursued a successful career in business and marketing. She has had a lifelong passion for helping others and giving back to the community. Kathy's father was a civil rights activist in his community and on more than one occasion, he had to sit by the window with a gun at night to protect his family. Kathy was greatly inspired by watching her father protect and nurture his community and his family.
The Gibson's have two children, Michael and Tiffany. Michael is a graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He majored in Exercise and Sports Science. Tiffany will graduate from Florida A&M University in December 2015 with a degree in Pre-Medical Science.
Our mission is to do what we can to help in hunger on this planet. We have dedicated our lives to helping others and we look forward to working diligently on the completion of our mission.
During the time that you spent reading this press release, a number of people died from hunger. Please donate what you can today to help us end the sad truth of hunger and poverty in our lifetime.
