HARRISBURG, Pa., Aug. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Holly Petraeus, widely known for her work strengthening consumer financial protection for members of the armed forces, will host a town hall meeting during the "Making $ense of Finance" conference in Erie on Saturday, August 22, 2015.
The conference is designed specifically towards addressing the financial and investing challenges faced by members of the military and veterans. The conference will be held at the Zem-Zem Shrine, 2525 West 38th Street in Erie, from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
Petraeus leads the Office of Servicemembers Affairs at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). During the town hall meeting, she will highlight some of the top consumer financial issues facing servicemembers and their families and the work she is leading to strengthen consumer financial protection efforts for the military community. She will take questions from registered participants.
"I'm pleased to be joining with the PA Military Finance Alliance in delivering much-needed financial information to the men and woman of our armed services," Petraeus said. "The realities of military life, including deployments and a high operational tempo, can sometimes make access to consumer financial information and services more challenging than for civilian consumers."
The "Making $ense of Finance" conference is free to members of the military, veterans, and their spouses and partners. Breakfast, lunch, and parking are included. Space is limited; registration is required and available online at http://bit.ly/msof2015.
