HomeServices.com and ShowingTime.com Partner to Provide New Web-based Real Estate Services

Apr 03, 2001, 01:00 ET from HomeServices.Com Inc.

    MINNEAPOLIS, April 3 /PRNewswire/ --
HomeServices.Com Inc. (Nasdaq: HMSV), the second largest residential real
estate brokerage firm in the United States, will begin offering additional
Web-based services for the company's sales associates and customers. Through
a partnership with ShowingTime.com, HomeServices will offer sales associates a
new way to support customers looking to buy or sell a home, as well as provide
customers with a new, innovative way to set up private-showing appointments.
The service, called ShowingAlert(TM), is offered exclusively through
Chicago-based ShowingTime.com. Edina Realty, located in the Twin Cities,
launched the program in March and the remaining HomeServices real estate
companies will roll out the program in the coming months.
By accessing ShowingAlert(TM), HomeServices' Web sites will allow
homebuyers to request a private-showing appointment for properties listed for
sale. ShowingTime.com will automatically route the requests to the
appropriate branch office and contact at each of the company's affiliated
brokerages. The branch offices are notified by e-mail, fax and optionally, by
a live-telephone call, for each showing request. An automated follow-up
system ensures that each homebuyer receives an appointment confirmation call,
reducing or eliminating the risk of Internet leads that do not get a response.
In addition, the system provides an online, interactive calendar for each
HomeServices property that reflects all showing-appointment activity. Along
with the convenience of online appointment requests, homebuyers get an online
 calendar that logs each appointment.
"Like The Hook Up(TM) and The Fix Up(TM) services we offer, this new
relationship will increase our value to our customers, and by using
ShowingAlert(TM), our agents will have another innovative tool to attract more
customers," said Ron Peltier, president and chief executive officer of
HomeServices. "This partnership leverages our leading position in each of our
markets and is designed to better serve our customers and to grow revenue by
 attracting more homebuyers."
"We're always looking for unique real estate Internet offerings that
create value for buyers, sales associates, and the real estate company," says
Doug Hedlund, vice president, enterprise solutions at HomeServices. "Based on
the track record ShowingAlert(TM) has already established with other real
estate firms, we expect to generate several hundred new appointment requests
per month, leading to more new buyer-agent relationships, a more satisfying
buyer experience and additional home listings and sales."
