YONKERS, N.Y., July 14, /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- James J. Landy, President & CEO of Hudson Valley Bank, has announced that the Bank received approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) to open a full service branch in Stratford, CT.
The branch is expected to open early in the fourth quarter of 2009 at 2505 Main Street to serve the banking needs of businesses and individuals in Stratford and surrounding communities.
Over the past year, Hudson Valley Bank has made a major commitment to Connecticut. The Bank has opened branches in Stamford, Westport, Greenwich and Fairfield, CT and will open a branch in Milford on July 20. When Milford opens, Hudson Valley will have 32 branches in Westchester, Rockland, the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn, NY, Fairfield County and New Haven County, CT.

Gary Biros, a resident of Milford and an experienced local Connecticut banker, will serve as Vice President and Manager of the Bank's Stratford Branch. Prior to coming to Hudson Valley, Mr. Biros had been a Business Development and Sales Manager at TD Banknorth in Stratford, so is very familiar with this marketplace, Mr. Landy explained.
Michael Leahy, another experienced Connecticut banker and Shelton, CT, resident, will serve as Vice President and Branch Manager for Hudson Valley's Milford branch. He is very knowledgeable with the Milford area, having started his career in Milford with Farmers Savings Bank.
