Apr 12, 2001, 01:00 ET from Quest Software, Inc.

IRVINE, Calif., April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Quest Software, Inc.
(Nasdaq: QSFT), a leading provider of application management solutions, today
announced that i2 Technologies, Inc. has selected Quest Software's database
management solutions to facilitate daily management of i2's databases and a
variety of custom and packaged applications. These products are designed to
help optimize the performance of i2's mission-critical business systems.
i2, the leading provider of supply chain and marketplace solutions, will
use Quest's database management suite, including SharePlex(R), Spotlight(TM),
SQLab Xpert(TM), I/Watch(TM) and Space Manager(TM), to provide both lights out
and real-time monitoring, diagnostics, and performance tuning. The
comprehensive management suite is designed to enable i2 to detect, diagnose
and resolve performance problems in their internal and i2 TradeMatrix(TM)
 environments.
"I've been working with Quest products for many years and they have proven
to be highly beneficial to the environments I have used them in," said Bill
Burke, director of corporate database operations at i2. "The Quest products
provide in-depth troubleshooting and drill down capabilities, enabling the
rapid identification and isolation of performance issues."
The unique functionality of the Quest products allows i2 users to optimize
performance and ensure the integrity of their databases. "We are especially
impressed with the proactive alerting capabilities of the monitoring products.
We can identify issues before we roll our applications out into the production
environment. The products are also interactive educational tools that enable
less experienced DBAs to recognize and take action on database performance
issues before they have damaging effects," added Burke.
"We are pleased to be selected by i2 as a premiere provider of database
management solutions for their environment," said Marshall Senk, vice
president of marketing for Quest Software. "The addition of Quest's products
to i2's environment will ensure database health and decrease the likelihood of
downtime associated with poor performing database applications."
