    SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Identix Incorporated
 (AMEX:   IDX) today announced the appointment of two key executives to its
 senior management team.  Veteran financial executive, Erik E. Prusch, joins
 Identix as its new Chief Financial Officer; seasoned sales strategy and
 marketing executive, Valerie J. Lyons, joins the Company as Executive Vice
 President Worldwide Sales.  Both appointments are effective immediately.

     Prusch, who most recently was Vice President and CFO, Finance & Operations
 for the $3.5 billion in annual sales Gateway Business division of publicly-
 traded Gateway Computers, Inc., brings to Identix more than 10 years of
 experience in finance.  He will report to McCashin, and will be responsible
 for the Company's finance organization including: Controller functions,
 Financial Planning and Analysis, SEC Filings, Investor Relations, Risk
 management, Tax and Corporate Finance.  Identix President and COO, James P.
 Scullion, who has also served as the Company's CFO for the past several years,
 will hand over CFO responsibilities to Prusch.
     During his more than two years with Gateway, Prusch managed 175 people and
 had functional responsibility for finance and operations.  He was also
 responsible for negotiating and structuring alliances with major multinational
 companies.  Prior to his work with Gateway, Prusch served as Vice President,
 Mergers and Acquisitions for Koch Industries, Inc., the second largest
 privately-held company in the U.S.  At Koch, he was responsible for the
 planning, analysis and execution of deals, including mergers, acquisitions,
 joint ventures, divestitures and minority investments.
     From 1993 to 1997, Prusch held various positions of increasing importance
 for PepsiCo, including Senior Director of Financial and Strategic Planning,
 Pizza Hut, and CFO, Treasurer and Director of Strategic Planning, D'angelo,
 Inc.  From 1988 to 1993, Prusch served as a Senior Consultant for the New York
 office of Deloitte & Touche.  He earned a BA in Economics from Yale University
 and a MBA in Finance and a MS in Accounting from New York University.
     Lyons enters a newly created position and will report to Scullion.  Her
 responsibilities will include setting the growth strategy for the worldwide
 sales force for each of the Company's four divisions, developing channel
 partners and overseeing day-to-day sales and marketing programs.  From
 December 1998 to January 2001, Lyons was President of Sytel, a privately-held
 e-business solutions firm, where she built from the ground up entirely new
 business practices in the areas of professional services, enterprise network
 management and Internet portals.  During her tenure at Sytel, Lyons was
 responsible for growing its professional services revenues by more than
 100 percent and creating a new business pipeline of nearly twice revenues.
     Prior to serving as President of Sytel, Lyons spent 18 years in ever
 increasing positions of responsibility including managing a number of multi-
 billion dollar sales teams for EDS, the Dallas-based leading pure-play global
 services company.  From October 1997 to November 1998, she was President of
 EDS U.S. Government Sector, with profit and loss responsibility for
 $450 million in annual revenue, a sales pipeline of $10 billion and a staff of
 3,000 professionals located in 13 states.  In this position, Lyons
 reestablished the EDS brand in the Federal civilian market place and was
 credited for turning around the financial performance of this division in less
 than one year, while rebuilding the sales pipeline to ensure revenue and
 profit growth expectations would be met in subsequent years.  Between 1989 and
 September 1997, she served in roles as Director of Sales Strategy, for the
 Megadeal Support Group, Director of Sales Leadership and as Division Vice
 President of Sales and Marketing for the Government Services SBU, where she
