Apr 04, 2001, 01:00 ET from Identix Incorporated

LOS GATOS, Calif., April 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Identix Incorporated
(Amex: IDX), the worldwide leader in providing biometric authentication,
security and identification solutions, today announced the addition of
DoorTek Corporation of San Antonio, Texas as its newest channel partner for
the physical access control market. DoorTek is a leading manufacturer of
Access Control Systems and Security System Products that are used throughout
the world. DoorTek has already begun to incorporate Identix's V20 fingerscan
readers into DoorTek access control systems, which it aggressively markets to
its dealers both in the United States and internationally. Through Identix's
Physical Access Control Division, over 24,000 fingerscan readers in 50
countries help secure government and executive offices, airports, schools,
 banks, prisons and other organizations.
"Dealers can now leverage the increased convenience and security of
biometrics into all access control solutions, even those for smaller and
mid-sized systems," reports DoorTek President Bob Gardner. "Requiring only
the touch of a finger, the Identix V20 provides any facility a heightened
level of security. We now make it simple and affordable for a dealer to mix
in one or more V20 readers with their customer's proximity readers, and we
will be showing our dealers how easy this solution is for both them and their
 customers to employ."
"By adding our V20 reader to their systems suites, DoorTek is providing
its dealers and their customers with a biometric solution that can lower
management costs while increasing user convenience," said Identix Vice
President, Physical Access Control, Bill Spence.
Utilizing a Wiegand interface, the Identix V20 reader easily integrates
into existing proximity card systems. Internal user memory is standard with
room for 512 users and can be optionally expanded to over 32,000 people.
Enrollment in the system is fast and easy.
