NEW YORK, April 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Peter Gutman has joined iFormation
Group's New York office as a Managing Director and part of the firm's senior
management team. Along with LabMorgan co-founder Peter Maillet, another recent
addition to the senior ranks at iFormation, Peter Gutman will be responsible
for sourcing, structuring and executing investments, as well as working with
corporate partners to build world class technology businesses.
"iFormation will draw on Peter's extensive banking, investing and
consulting experience to broaden and deepen our relationships with both
current and prospective corporate partners," said David Pecaut, President of
 iFormation Group.
Peter joins iFormation from Watershed Capital, a private equity firm
focused on technology, where he was a partner overseeing the firm's European
investments from the London office. Before that, he had ten years of
investment banking experience in the areas of telecommunications, media,
technology and restructuring - most recently at Goldman Sachs, where he was a
Managing Director in the Communications, Media & Technology Group based in
London. At Goldman, Peter had dual responsibilities within the firm's advisory
and principal investment areas and had responsibility for transactions
involving some of Goldman's major clients while working in the Americas,
 Europe and Asia.
According to Gene Sykes, iFormation Group board member and co-head of
technology investing at Goldman Sachs, "The transition from Goldman Sachs to
iFormation is a natural one for Peter. We have great confidence in him and
look forward to working with him through our significant involvement in
 iFormation."
"There is no firm better positioned than iFormation to take advantage of
the opportunities available in the technology sector. The three-way
partnership between Goldman Sachs, General Atlantic Partners and Boston
Consulting Group gives iFormation an exceptional platform for building new
ventures and expanding our network to involve other major players in the
banking and venture community," said Peter Gutman.
Earlier in his career, Gutman worked at Lehman Brothers in New York and
London and served as a management consultant for Arthur Andersen and Booz
Allen & Hamilton. He has a BS in engineering from University of Michigan, an
MBA from the University of Chicago and an MSc from the London School of
 Economics.
