MEMPHIS, Tenn., April 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Inventory Locator Service, LLC
(ILS), the first and largest business-to-business electronic marketplace
serving the aviation and marine industries, today announced new records set in
the first quarter for transactions, quote requests sent, and inventory
listings. Specifically, ILS reached a new milestone in inventory listings,
hitting an all-time high of over 43 million line items, representing over 5
billion parts. Additionally, subscriber accesses (the number of times each
day that customers use ILS to locate parts and services via the Internet and
dial-up networks) reached a rate of three-quarters of a million transaction
sets during March. Those subscribers searched for 3.2 million aircraft and
commercial marine parts, with 75 percent of them using www.ILSmart.com.
Subscribers also sent out 425,000 quote requests and faxes.
Bruce Langsen, president of ILS, attributed the records to the company's
focus on providing results for its subscribers. "As evidenced by the records
set in the first quarter, our success comes from the success of our clients.
In particular, we are excited by the continued increase in subscriber use of
our web site, www.ILSmart.com. The increased accesses and part listings
reinforce our belief that ILSmart.com provides an efficient and profitable way
to do business in a trusted, unbiased environment. Our 2.5 year, $20 million
capital plan and customer education program will further advance that
environment and will continue the progress of the Contact to Contract(TM)
initiative, providing our customers with even more value."
While many companies are just beginning to develop electronic
marketplaces, ILS has been connecting buyers and sellers for over 20 years.
The ILSmart.com website enables buyers and sellers to take advantage of
powerful e-commerce tools, such as BidQuest, Internet auctions, e-Supplier
Directory, and Request for Quotation services. Current subscribers include
more than 200 airlines, 600 overhaul companies, and 45 U.S government
 procurement agencies.
     Memphis-based Inventory Locator Service, LLC (ILS - www.ILSmart.com), a
business unit of Aviall (NYSE: AVL), provides information and enables commerce
