ATLANTA, Jan. 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- InComm, a leading prepaid product and transaction services company, is proud to announce that its founder and CEO, Brooks Smith, will be inducted into the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) FinTech Society Hall of Fame on Thursday, February 4, 2016.
Now in its sixth year, the FinTech Hall of Fame inducts one industry leader every year to honor and celebrate those who have made a memorable impact in Georgia's industry-leading FinTech landscape. Previous winners include Phil Tomlinson of TSYS (2015), Pamela Joseph of US BanCorp (2014), and Paul Garcia of Global Payments (2013).
"It is truly an honor to be inducted into the FinTech Hall of Fame and to be included among other innovators in the industry," Smith said. "At InComm, we are making great strides in improving the way people shop every day, and being recognized for that and as a leader in the industry means a great deal to not only me, but to the company and to everyone who works with us."
While working as a sales and marketing executive early on in his career, Smith developed a keen aptitude for technology, which led him to found InComm in 1992. Since then, he has overseen the evolution of the company from focusing on supporting the sale of long-distance phone cards into a leader in the prepaid technology industry. Smith has continued to spearhead the development of other innovative prepaid and point-of-sale technologies that help connect the industry's leading product providers with many of the world's largest retailers.
Named the Georgia's Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2007, Smith is a widely respected industry pioneer because of his innovative work in the growth, shaping, and direction of the prepaid product distribution network. Under his leadership, the company is now at the forefront of the prepaid industry technology, driving growth of diverse products from top retailers in North and South America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.
