NAB SHOW, LAS VEGAS, April 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- CAMERON | PACE Group – the worldwide leader in 3D production technology and services – and Innoventive Software, LLC – a leading film and video software development company with a long history in the filmmaking and creative writing fields – today announced that the two companies will co-develop an innovative new software approach that makes it possible to automatically generate accurate stereo 3D previsualization output and camera system settings from scenes developed natively in 2D.
"From script-to-screen, we are committed to providing the best solutions, support, and expertise to our feature film partners," said Vince Pace, co-founder, CAMERON | PACE Group. "By collaborating with Innoventive Software's team, we are further demonstrating our commitment to designing, building, and proving cutting-edge technology that will usher filmmaking into a new era in which 5D tools and techniques are ubiquitous."
As part of the collaboration, technology fundamental to CAMERON | PACE Group's (CPG) patented, proprietary 3D/5D solutions – including the CPG Automatic Interocular Control algorithm – will be incorporated directly into Innoventive Software's award-winning FrameForge Previz Studio software program to create a new offering to be integrated into the 5D packages CPG custom-tailors to its clients' specific needs. CPG's solutions already constitute the most advanced systems available for use in the planning, shooting and post-production of feature films and this partnership will take these offerings yet another step forward by deeply integrating these systems into the preproduction stage.
The addition of these new solutions to CPG's portfolio will further bolster the company's Certification Program, through which CPG provides end-to-end, 24/7/365 support to ensure the approaches and equipment used throughout making of a film – from pre- to post-production – lead to the highest-quality stereo output at the lowest possible cost.
Introduced by James Cameron and Vince Pace this week onstage at the 2012 NAB Show, 5D production is an emerging approach to filmmaking where one solution enables the output of both 2D and 3D content simultaneously. Previsualization's key advantage is that it enables filmmakers to explore and test many aspects of the production process, including lighting, camera placement, movement, etc., without having to spend the budget and time required by actual production.
Representatives from CPG are at the 2012 NAB Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center this week from April 14-19. The company's expo booth, #O32390 located in the Outdoor/Mobile Media area, will showcase a number of 3D/5D solutions.

About INNOVENTIVE SOFTWARE
Innoventive Software's flagship product, FrameForge Previz Studio, was created with the goal of moving the preproduction process from the inherently abstract concept of storyboards to a practical, optically-accurate pre-shoot in a cost-effective, easy-to-use virtual set or location. The cost-time benefits of this kind of previsualization range from identifying and solving a whole variety of potential shooting issues prior to arriving on the set, the ability to clearly communicate the goals and look of the shoot among all departments, the ability to brainstorm and try new ideas live in inter-departmental meetings, the automatic generation of a wealth of production information include shot and equipment lists, target camera settings, which characters are visible in which shots, and even limiting planned set builds by identifying which areas are never actually seen on camera. FrameForge Previz Studio has been used on hundreds of productions worldwide, ranging from studio shoots, television, commercials to indie features of every kind.
