InStep's PRiSM Online Condition Monitoring Software Selected by Major Electric Utility

CHICAGO, Jan. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- InStep Software, LLC, a leading provider of real-time software technology, announced today that Southern Company, one of North America's largest utilities, has licensed InStep's PRiSM software as the real-time condition monitoring application for Southern Company's Fleetwide Monitoring and Diagnostic Center.

InStep's PRiSM software will monitor Southern Company's critical fossil generation assets to provide early detection and notification of potential equipment or process problems, and to compare equipment and processes between similar generating units. PRiSM uses sophisticated data mining and pattern recognition technology for real-time early identification of equipment problems that can often lead to unexpected downtime or efficiency losses.
