INVESCO Global Health Sciences Fund Reports Earnings and Holdings

    DENVER, April 2 /PRNewswire/ -- INVESCO Global Health Sciences Fund
 (NYSE:   GHS) (the "Fund") announced operating results for its first quarter
 ended January 31, 2001.  On December 15, 2000, the Fund paid a quarterly
 distribution equal to $3.0139 per share.  During the three-month period, the
 Fund's total return was down (18.44%) based on net asset value ("NAV") and
 down (3.31%) based on market price.  The Fund's discount to NAV was (3.85%) on
 January 31, 2001.  At March 26, 2001 the Fund's discount to NAV was (4.43%).
 For the quarter, the Fund had net unrealized losses of ($5.46), net realized
 gains of $1.68 and net investment losses of ($0.02), all on a per share basis.
 For the first quarter ended January 31, 2001, the Fund made a $0.4287 per
 share distribution, which was paid to shareholders on February 22, 2001.
     The INVESCO Global Health Sciences Fund is a diversified closed-end
