ipVerse Appoints Former Nortel Exec Amit Chawla VP of Marketing

    SAN JOSE, Calif., April 11 /PRNewswire/ -- ipVerse appointed Amit Chawla
 Vice President of Marketing for ipVerse.  Amit brings to ipVerse 13 years of
 design, product management and market development experience in the
 packet-based wireline, and wireless Internet infrastructure, applications and
 services industry.  Most recently, he led the network call control and feature
 server portfolio across the Succession and Wireless Internet organizations.
 Prior to this Portfolio Management role, Amit was responsible for
 North American Market Development for Succession Networks.
     Amit has extensive experience in the design and architecture of next
 generation products, as well as in the product launch and positioning of these
 products to customers.  The combination of his technical and marketing
 expertise will be critical as Amit heads the marketing and positioning efforts
 for ipVerse ControlSwitch, a softswitch platform that allows carriers to offer
 both existing and new, converged services on an efficient, packet-based
 network infrastructure.
     Among his many accomplishments at Nortel, Amit helped define and develop
 Nortel's Class 4 and 5 switch evolution strategy, in addition to other
 Succession and Wireless products, resulting in a leadership position across
 the North American incumbent and emerging market segments.
